Pinewind is a repository for thoughts related to my interests or life in general that, for one reason or another, I felt like putting "out there."

For now, this is "just a blog", meaning a type of online media following a strictly chronological order. Eventually, I want to turn it into more of a digital garden, a website with a sense of place that's more than just an outlet to release "content" on.

about me

Hi! You can call me kwist. I'm a 30-something guy, originally from Europe, but now based in Japan. I enjoy art (both appreciating and creating), reading, stationery, nature (hiking and a tiny bit of amateur birding and botany), various forms of note-taking and journaling, design in almost all of its forms, architecture, and occasionally going to karaoke (although I'm not very good at it).

I used to be a Magic: The Gathering player. I have since abandoned the card game as a hobby, but still am a fan of the illustrations and other creative work that goes into it. If you happen to be what's called a "Vorthos" in MtG circles, you can check out my other blog on tumblr where I occasionally write about MtG art, worldbuilding, and character design.
