A new kind of experience

The Pilot fan meeting was nice! I didn't really know what to expect since I'd never been to an event like this. I was a bit worried that I would be "too casual" of a fan and that others would show up with multiple cases full of expensive pens, but that wasn't the case. The gifts we got turned out to be very generous. I wish there'd been a bit more "free time", though. I didn't get any chance to talk to people who weren't at my table, and while the calligraphy exercises were fun, there wasn't time for anything else.

Looking for laptops

I've decided that I'm going to get a new laptop in the first half of July. My current one is on its last legs - it's kind of amazing that it still works in its current state. I've been postponing the purchase because it's a big investment, and I always feel like I should do more research. But honestly - all the new laptop really needs to do is being relatively slim and light, having a decent-ish battery life and being able to run Photoshop. I'm going to look up the Adobe CC requirements, read / watch some reviews, and then just go for it. There's no such thing as 100% perfect certainty anyway.

Even more gadgets?

When browsing at Yodobashi Camera today, I also tried out some keyboards. I really like the ones that sounded like pebbles clacking against each other underwater. Apparently "thocky" is what this sound quality is called. This could be something for the long-term wishlist. I also tried out the Pomera D250, a "digital typewriter" of sorts. The portability and lack of distractions is nice, but I didn't love how small and cramped the keyboard is. Anyway, first I'll get the new laptop, use it for a bit and see if I reallty need or want anything else.
