Thoughts
New brushes are nice
I'm really enjoying the "good brushes" I bought at Sekaido. The ones from Daiso were good for their price too, but even an amateur like me can tell the difference. The hairs hold together better and allow me to work more precisely. The current set of three I'm using is probably enough for now. I feel motivated to paint more.
Dokudami are out
The dokudami (Houttuynia cordata) have started blooming. They're everywhere. For some reason, they've really grown on me over the years. Thinking about making a separate post about them.
Beware of mosquitoes
It's that time of the year again ... where there's green, there are mosquitoes. I looked them up - the ones I see all the time are Asian tiger mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus). They're silent in flight, and crawl under loose-fitting shirts. I'll have to make sure to carry around some insect repellent spray from now on.
Enjoying Bear Blog
I've only been using Bear Blog for two days, but I'm really enjoying it so far. It's been fun browsing the "Most Recent" feed and just reading random posts. Also set up an RSS feed to follow blogs that I like. I'm thinking about upgrading, but it's too early to decide. I'm going to play around a bit more before I make my decision.
