Moodfields

This is the collection page for a series of posts that I’m calling “moodfields.” Every now and then (especially during my commute), I use Pinterest. Over time, I’ve built up quite a few moodboards. Aside from boards for pre-existing categories like “Art Nouveau” or “Surrealism”, I’ve also made boards for what I initially called custom aesthetics. Essentially, they’re visual representations of thematic categories that I personally find interesting, or otherwise “vibe with” in some way.

However, when I started thinking about writing blog posts about these categories, I felt that I wanted to avoid using the word “aesthetic.” To me, that word implies that something is entirely superficial - only style, no substance. But I want these stylistic categories to be more than that.

I want to use this series of posts to flesh out the non-visual aspects of these categories to allow further exploration. These are garden posts - I plan to keep adding onto them as I get new ideas.
